Preparation upon recieving my Hypoestes shrub...
On the day upon receiving my plant the task of setting up an apparatus to carry out the experiment was at hand. It was required of me to make sure that the roots were thoroughly cleansed which took approximately three days to free the plant of all soil debris, the apparatus comprised of a glass jar that would contain the water and a funnel to support the plant partially in the water. The plant was expected to grow only on water and sunlight-an integral aspect for primary producers to generate nutrients for growth during a process known as photosynthesis.
