Hey guys, I have been asking my self this question, is it really safe to reuse bottles and I know a lot of people would like to find out whether reusing plastic bottles could harm their health, well earlier on I came across an interesting article explaining the pros and cons of reusing bottles. People use mugs and cups for their daily drinking activity , however, time has changed and people start to use container to store water and for their drinking purposes. This modern lifestyle has brought a huge impact to our health because what we put into our mouth is the most basic necessity to live. which is to drink and to survive every day.

I asked myself this question: is drinking water by reusing plastic bottles causing harm to my health, and I also think you guys need to ask youselves the very same question. After all bacteria may grow inide the bottle regardless of what material it is made by. So by using reusing bottles we are actually putting bacteria into our mouth, however, after attending ESS lectures I learnt something that I did not know and that was not aall bacteria are harmful to one's haelth. Some are good toward our health such asd probiotics that can be found in yogurt and of course, there are also bacteria that can cause disease, such as E.coli. The solution to this is very simple, WASH THE PLASTIC BOTTLE EVERY TIME AFTER USED, USE HOT HOT AND SOAPY WATER TO THOROUGHLY CLEAN THE BOTTLE.

The advantage of reusing bottles is simple, by reusing bottles you simply reduce pollution on the environment and saves you money because when you go to the store to buy the same product you will probably get a discount. Some people may say that reusing plastic bottles for drinking may cause cancer. This is true if you are using PET or PETE( polyethyl terephthalate) plastic bottles. Instead of using HDPE(high-density polyethylene), LDPE(low-density polyethylene), PP(polypropylene) or get yourself a reusable bottle that is made by aluminium or stainless steel.

The chemicals that contained within the plastic bottles can peel off and mix with your drinking water due to wear and tear. Thus, you have to make sure that you are using good quality water bottles, change it regularly.

As long as youn practice good hygiene, wash your water bottles regularly and change it to a new one when necessary, you will have no problem with reusing water bottles for drinking water.
