Nitrates are very high, Nitrates should be 10 or less. Nitrates are very dangerous when very high in water. Nitrites aren't that dangerous. Nitrites should be 1 or less. The quality of BPI2 is a problem. The solution is to try and get the nitrite and nitrate levels as low as possible, and by doing that the ESS first year class has decided that we should do two water changes instead of one per week.

Results of week 2
No3 (mg/l)

No2 (mg/l)

GH<3
KH 3-6
ph<6.4
Total Root length (mm) 278
Height                  (mm) 92

Nitrates and nitrites have improved since last week. the reason is because we have changed the water twice a week. The water quality has also improved. The class has decided to keep the "twice a week water change' routine because it is giving us healthier results.
